Abstract

440,332. Plate heat - exchangers. PRESTAGE, E., 74, Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury, London. May 25, 1934, No. 15585. [Class 64 (iii)] The hollow plates 1 and covers 3 of a heatexchanger, e.g. a pasteurizer of the kind described in Specification 440,331, are hinged by plates 8 and pins 5, 6 to a standard 7 to facilitate opening out of the plates for cleaning. The heating or cooling fluid is supplied to, and withdrawn from, the plates through flexible tubes 16. The pasteurizer may comprise a preheater section 10 separated by a heatinsulated plate 9 from a heater section 11 through which hot water is circulated, and water and brine cooled sections 12, 13 also separated by a plate 9, the water from the section 12 being passed through the preheater section 10.
