440,331. Plate heat - exchangers. PRESTAGE, E., 74, Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury, London. May 25, 1934, No. 15584. [Class 64 (iii)] A milk pasteurizer &c. comprises a stack of plates each consisting of a metal frame 2 having ribs 3 to which are welded stainlesssteel plates 1 carrying spacing ribs 4. Inlet and outlet connections 6 are provided on each of the frames for the heating or cooling fluid, while the milk is admitted to, and withdrawn from, the spaces between the plates 1 through ports 7. The passages formed within the plates may be cleaned by brushes inserted through openings in the frames closed by plugs 11. The faces of the frames are machined and provided with grooves 10 and rubber gaskets 9.
