433,749. Vacuum apparatus for raising liquids. CACCIATORI, G., 20, Via Scutari, Lido, Venice, Italy. Jan. 14, 1935, No. 1228. Convention date, July 11, 1934. [Class 102 (ii)] [See also Groups XVII and XVIII] Apparatus for filling a receptacle with liquid from one of a number of storage vessels comprises a head 13 to which are connected pipes 10 communicating with the storage vessels, and a pipe 19 communicating with an exhauster. A spring-pressed plate 15 is turned so that a hole 21 registers with the desired pipe 10. The receptacle 1 is then raised by a platform 2 into contact with the plate 15, the platform being raised by a piston 4 operated by compressed air or vacuum supplied under control of a valve 22. The upward movement of the plate 15 uncovers orifices 18 in the end 17 of the pipe 19 and liquid is sucked through the pipe 10. A float valve 23 closes the pipe 19 when the receptacle 1 is full.
