Abstract
433,713. Supply-fittings for baths. MASON'S PATENT VALVES, Ltd., and SHEARDOWN, J. W., 702A, Salisbury House, London Wall, London. Feb. 16, 1934, No. 5167. [Class 26] [See also Group XXIX] In a mixing-valve particularly for use where hot and cold water pipes are connected to a mixing chamber 1 for alternative supply to a bath or a shower, one of the outlets is formed as a controlling means so that its position determines the direction of flow. The chamber 1 is formed with a central part 2 having ports 10 therein and wherein is rotatably mounted an extension 4 of the spout 3 also formed with ports 11 controlling the flow of water to the spout. The flow of water to the shower A is controlled by a ported plate 7 fixed to the extension 5 of the spout 3 sliding over a plate 6 fixed to the chamber 1 and formed with ports 16. The arrangement is such that when the ports 10, 11 are in register, the ports in the plates 6, 7 are out of register. A grub-screw 17 in the spout engages a slot in the chamber 1 to limit the movement of the spout to 45‹ either side of the normal position.
