Abstract
1,211,688. Valves. WALKER CROSWELLER & CO. Ltd. 22 Feb., 1968 [22 Nov., 1966], No. 52223/66. Heading F2V. A hot and cold water mixing valve has two inlets 2, 3 and a pair of opposed outlets 8, 9. The flow from the inlets is controlled by two reciprocating valves 15, 16 actuated by opposed bifurcated arms 18, 19 on a boss 20 reciprocated by a threaded connection with an axially-fixed rotatable shaft 29 having an operating knob 32. Flow from the valves is through opposed passages 13, 14, ports 27, 28 in a depending sleeve of the boss 20 which ports are brought into register with the passages 13, 14 simultaneously with the opening of valves 15, 16 and through ports 44, 45 of a hub 35 rotatable by a knob 47 to control the relative proportions of water flowing from the two inlets into the inside of the hub. The water flows out of the hub through an opening 48 which can be positioned opposite either of the outlets to direct flow to a shower or a bath.
