Abstract

432,490. Cartons. CROXTED MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and LAWSON, M. A., 288, Croxted Road, Herne Hill, London. Jan. 23, 1934, No. 2391. [Class 18] A collapsable carton to hold an electric lamp, bottle, &c., is formed from a single blank provided with parts A, B which support an article spaced from the walls of the carton, and with a cover 2 ... 5 which can, without affecting the article support, be opened to display the article. Each support comprises an end wall 7 and extensions 12 ... 14 thereon, the portion 14 being secured to the base 1. Flaps 17, 18 on the walls 7 are folded to enclose the sides of the article which is supported in apertures 15, 16. When the cover is closed down, the flaps 3, 5 overlap and are secured by a staple, strip of soft metal, or an adhesive strip 6. An aperture 21 allows of access to the contacts of the lamp for testing purposes and it can be seen whether the lamp lights through a window 22 covered with tissue paper &c. in the base.
