431,077. Friction clutches. BORG & BECK CO., 6558, South Menard Avenue, NUTT, H., 9916, South Hamilton Street, and REED, H. V., 6558, South Menard Avenue, both in Chicago, U.S.A. Jan. 31, 1934, No. 3263. [Class 80 (ii)] Each of the radial levers 10 for withdrawing the spring-loaded pressure plate 6 of a plate clutch has a rounded pivotal projection 43 in rolling contact with the flat face 44 of the cross member of aT-bolt 42 carried by the cover plate 8, with which the plate 6 rotates. An extension 421 of the bolt is slidably supported in the plate 6. A plate strut 47, with rounded or knife-edged ends, engages between a depression 46 in the outer end of the lever and the flat face of a projection 48 extending from a lug 19 on the plate 6, the strut being retained by a wire 50. When the projection 48 is disposed between the plate 6 and the lever 10, the strut is replaced by a tension link. Specification 419,834 is referred to.
