[Classes 18 and 66] In a sheet metal box of the type in which the lid 2, Fig. 1, rests on a ridge 4 formed with a downwardly inclined portion 6 so that when pressure is applied at P, the lid tilts about the points 7, the horizontal portion of the ridge branches out sharply from the wall of the box, i.e. at a right angle or an acute angle b, Fig. 5. The upper edge 8 of the box is inclined or curved to prevent the lid jamming, and the portion 8<a> is inclined or spherical in form to facilitate snapping open and lifting of the lid.
