424,665. Moving signs. EQUIPMENT & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and SWIFT, H. B., 2, Norfolk Street, Strand, London. Nov. 15, 1933, No. 31790. [Class 3 (i)] Rollers for reel and web destination indicators are mounted in bearings comprising at one end a spring-pressing device C and at the other end a locating piece A<2> comprising a shallow guiding groove A<4> leading to a central circular recess A<3>. The groove A<4> allows a cylindrical extension B<3> on the roller B<1> to be passed laterally into the recess A<3> and slid axially over a squared driving stub A<1> under pressure from the device C. The device C forms a friction element to tension the display band F, and may consist of a spring-pressed ball head C<2> engaging a recess B<6> in the roller end. The spring casing C may have a side hole to receive a pin after the roller B<1> is placed in position, the pin coming behind the head C' to prevent accidental retraction thereof releasing the roller. In a modification, a fixed truncated cone is mounted on the frame and a spring- pressed cone-recessed head disposed in the roller end.
