Abstract
421,002. Motors. PESTARINI, G. M., c/o C. T. San Giorgio, Sestri. Genoa, Italy. Aug. 21, 1933, No. 23268. [Class 35] Exciting.-The armature of a commutator motor for operating lifts has a pair of auxiliary brushes b, d 90‹ eletrically from the brushes a, c supplying the armature and connected to a secondary winding H which opposes the main winding X when the armature is turning in the motoring direction ; the current in the main field winding can be interrupted or reversed, and the poles are provided with a damping-winding D or the main winding can be short circuited. An auxiliary winding may be provided on the axis of the brushes. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement with four poles the main winding X on which is so connected at points p, q, r, s to switches G, R that for motoring the winding produces a flux along the axis b, d as shown in Fig. 1 and for braking a flux along the axis a, c. Also the points q, s may be connected by a switch in which case the winding X acts to damp the collapse of the flux along the axis q, a but not along the line p, r. Furthermore part of the main field winding may be shunted as the cage approaches the stopping place and a mechanical brake applied when the current is cut off from the armature. Chokes may be arranged across the winding X in series with the winding H. Specification 417,517 is referred to.
