419,890. Pipe joints. URE, C. M., and MENZIES, D. M., Westerhill Pipe Works, Bishopbriggs, Glasgow. June 15, 1933, No. 17077. [Class 99 (i).] In a concrete pipe of which the spigot end c is tapered the socket end only is provided with a correspondingly tapered hard bituminous ring d, the joint being rendered tight by treating the ring with paraffin. The spigot may be thinly coated with a bituminous composition. The socket may be enlarged at f to receive packing. Specification 261,168, [Class 99 (i)], is referred to.
