Abstract
410,120. Pipe joints. MANNESMANNROHREN-WERKE, 1B, Berger Ufer, D³sseldorf, Germany. Nov. 7, 1932, No. 31413. Convention date, Aug. 27. [Class 99 (i).] In a spigot-and-socket joint for lined metal pipes an electrical insulating material a is contained in an annular space between the mouth of the socket and the junction d of the linings e. A band f of celluloid, rubber or impregnated fabric may be embedded in the packing or interposed between the packing and one of the pipes. The surfaces of the pipe ends may be coated with rubber and an outer coating e<1> of bitumen &c. may be applied. An aligning device comprising a springy split sleeve k may be used and withdrawn after assembly by a handle l. Specification 394,501 is referred to.
