417,499. Feeding webs. HOE & CO., Ltd., R., 109, Borough Road, London.-(Hoe & Co., Inc., R. ; 138th Street, New York, U.S.A.) Jan 2, 1933, No. 16852/34. Divided out of 417,443 under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect 91 of the Acts, Sept. 4, 1933. [Class 100 (i).] A web-roll support for printing-presses and other machines comprises spaced supporting members, trunnion members journalled in the supporting members and connected together by spaced parallel shafts, and roll-supporting arms carried by the shafts. A pair of spaced pedestal supports 5 receive the journals 6 of members 7 connected together by a pair of shafts 8, 8<1> on which are mounted arms 11 carrying between them an active roll and a reserve roll. The arms 11 are adjustable upon the shafts 8, 8<1> to suit rolls of different widths and are secured in adjusted position by set screws. The use of two spaced shafts 8, 8<1> stiffens the roll-supporting structure and permits of two full-sized rolls being mounted on the support with their peripheries closely adjacent to one another. The shafts lie within parallel planes tangential to the peripheries of a pair of full sized rolls.
