415,966. Automatic guns. WAFFENFABRIK SOLOTHURN AKT.-GES., Solothurn, Switzerland, HERLACH, F., 1, Rudesheimerstrasse and RAKULA, T., 19, Sigismundkorso, both in Fronau, Berlin. March 20, 1934, No. 8745. [Class 92 (ii).] Relates to automatic guns of the kind having a sliding barrel b, a longitudinally moving breech-block d, and separate running-out devices for each of these two parts. According to the invention, the entire running-out mechanism is accommodated together in a single displaceable cover g which, when opened about a hinge pin a<1>, disconnects the running-out mechanism from the barrel-breech system. In the construction shown, the cover also houses a pawl m for accelerating the backward movement of the breech-block, a control pin n for the rotatable sleeve c which bolts the breech-block to the barrel in their forward positions, and a spring- controlled locking member f which preserves the bayonet connection between the barrel and its casing b<1> by engaging in a groove in the barrel. The barrel running-out spring b<3> acts on the collar h<1> of a spring bolt h and bears at its other end against a sleeve i which also engages a buffer spring k. The forked rear end of the bolt engages over a projection b<4> of the barrel casing when the cover is closed. The closing- spring d<1> for the breech-block acts on a slidable sleeve d<2> a projection d<3> of which engages in a recess in the breech-block. Inclined surfaces h<2>, d4 are provided on the members hand d<2> so that the running-out springs are stressed slightly when the cover is closed. The cover is held in its operative position by a sliding sleeve o which by means of a nose o<1> engages under a projection p<1> of a closing member p hinged at a<2>. This sleeve is secured against turning by a spring catch q and against axial displacement by a pivoted lever r.
