Abstract
127,663. Soc. Anon. des Etablissements Delaunay Belleville. Dec. 1, 1916, [Convention date]. Breech actions, sliding breech-block.-Relates to gas-operated guns, and consists in detail improvements (a) in the gas-operating mechanism and (b) in a buffer for the piston-rod. Trigger mechanism adapted for single-shot and continuous firing, and dust-covers for the breech action, are also described. The gas cylinder 2, Figs. 2 and 3, is fixed at the front and rear by clamping-rings 3, 16, the rear one 16 being provided with a bearing for the piston-rod 14. The rod 17 connecting the piston-rod and the bolt-actuating sleeve 23 is guided by an intermediate bearing-ring 19, Figs. 1 and 6. A resilient stop 20, Fig. 1, for the piston-rod is provided, comprising a spring-pressed stud 20 mounted in an extension of the bearing- ring 19. The connecting-rod 17 is coupled to the handle 24, Fig. 4, of the bolt-actuating sleeve by an interrupted screw-thread, so that it can be uncoupled, for hand actuation, by turning the handle. The connecting-rod may be made with two telescopic parts 39, 41, Fig. 10, having an interposed spring 42. The gas inlet to the cylinder is controlled by an horizontal rotary plug 6, Figs. 3 and 8, having passages 7, 8 of different sizes. The breech casing is closed, when the gun is out of use, by a hinged flap 45, Fig. 14, adapted to be turned down, or by a revolving cover 46, Fig. 15, having a pivot at the back. The sear 28 is actuated by a pawl 31 on the trigger, the pawl being controlled by a stop 33 which can be turned into three positions for safety, single-shot firing and continuous firing respectively.
