Abstract

413,884. Detachable wheels. TEKNA SOC. ANON., 17, Rue Haldimand, Lausanne, Switzerland. Aug. 17, 1933, No. 23036. Convention date, Aug. 30, 1932. [Class 144 (i).] A detachable wheel formed with apertures to fit over driving-studs projecting from the permanent hub is secured by a collar slidably, but non-rotatably mounted on the permanent hub and clamped by a central nut or bolt, the collar having radial lugs to engage the wheel hub and the latter having slots to clear the lugs for assemblage &c. of the wheel. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 4, the wheel-centre has apertures 9 to receive studs 10 projecting from the hub 4, and slots 8 by means of which the wheel may be passed over lugs 16, 17<1> on the collar 15 and nut 13 respectively. The collar engages a square 11 on the axle 3, the threaded end of which is fitted with a grubscrew 14 to prevent complete detachment of the nut. In the modification shown in Fig. 8, the wheel-centre 23 is secured to the brakedrum 18 by a bolt 25 and collar 22 which may be urged axially outwards by springs 29.
