Abstract

411,562. Spray-producers. HAWKINS, J. G., HAWKINS, C. C., HAWKINS, G. W., (trading as HAWKINS BROS.), St. Martin's Gate, Worcester. Dec. 20, 1932, No. 36053. [Class 69 (iii).] In a liquid-fuel burner of the kind in which oil and air under pressure are supplied to a central barrel c and are discharged to mix with air discharged from a surrounding nozzle g, the nozzle may be secured to its carrier in one of several positions so as to vary the air supply and to facilitate the return of the nozzle to the same position after detachment for cleaning &c. In the form shown the rear end g<2> of the nozzle is secured to a flange a<2> on the burner body a by a screw i passing through one of several holes arranged on a line inclined to the axis of the nozzle and is held in the adjusted position against vibration by screws l, m fitted with locking nuts. The fuel supply is regulated by an adjustable valve d having a spiral strip extension and the barrel c is externally grooved so that both fuel and air are given a whirling motion on discharge.
