Abstract
397,842. Oil engines. LAUTOUR, F. DE, 155, Chomley Gardens, Mill Lane, London. Feb. 22, 1932, No. 5247. [Class 7 (iii).] In an engine wherein the combustion chamber 15 is connected to the main cylinder by a narrow passage 22 the exhaust valve 16 is arranged to lead out of the chamber 15 and the injection nozzle 23 directs the fuel on to the valves so that it is vaporized thereby. The inlet valve may remain open for only two-thirds of the suction stroke as described in Specification 266,144, [Class 7 (ii), Internal-combustion engines, Arrangement &c. of], and means such as set out in Specification 338,559,. [Class 7 (iii), Internal-combustion engines, Carburetting-apparatus &c. for], may be used to cause swirl of the air ; the direction of the entering air may be opposed to the direction of flow in the combustion chamber, the air traversing an eight-shaped path. Spark plug ignition may be used. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 266,197, [Class 7 (iii), Internalcombustion engines, Carburetting-apparatus &c. for].
