[Class 38 (ii).] A current transformer is provided with a wide air gap in its core in order that a conductor 7 carrying current to be measured may be inserted therein. The core 2 is of U-shape, and the secondary winding is in two parts 5, 6 arranged near the air gap. Specification 376,478 is referred to.
