356,690. Magnetic tests and measurements. FERRANTI, Ltd. and NORRIS, E. D. T., Hollinwood, Lancashire. March 4, 1930, No. 7049. Drawings to Specification. [Class 37.] For testing permeability and hysteresis losses in selected portions of metal sheets, measurements are made of the current and watts in an A.C. magnetizing coil closely encircling the sheet and of relatively axial dimension so that the reluctance of the air-path is much smaller than that of the metal-path. Integrating meters may be used to obtain average values over entire sheets. Means may be provided for making comparative tests with reference to standard sheets.
