Abstract

306,826. Siemens - Schuckertwerke Akt.-Ges. Feb. 25, 1928, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Se'ct. 91 of the Acts]. Current transformers are caused to operate on a desired part of the magnetization curve by the use of a premagnetizing winding energized by current supplied from an auxiliary transformer, the primary winding of which is in series with the primary of the main transformer and having its core so dimensioned that saturation is reached at low load so that the pre-magnetizing current is not greatly affected by load variations. The core of the current transformer is divided into parts 1, 2 both embraced by the primary and secondary windings 3, 4. The primary also embraces the core of the auxiliary transformer 8, the secondary 7 of which is connected to premagnetizing windings 5, 6 which are oppositely wound on the two main cores so that they " do not disturb the equilibrium of the primary and secondary ampere windings."
