394,009. Knitting-machines. BRINTON CO., H., 3700, Kensington Avenue, Frankford, Philadelphia, U.S.A. Dec. 19, 1931, No. 35186. Convention date, Aug. 1. [Class 74 (ii).] " Pattern mechanism for a machine having needles with upper and lower butts comprises a stitch cam 19, a designer wheel 25 and an additional raising or nullifying cam 48, all of which are preferably provided on each segment of the cam ring associated with a yarn feed. The designer wheel is positioned to co-operate with the upper set of butts and the nullifying cam 48 is adapted to engage, when desired, the lower butts of unselected needles while the upper butts of those needles are in engagement with the tricks of the designer wheel. A supplementary needle cylinder is provided below the ordinary needle cylinder to accommodate needles of the length required.
