Abstract

392,153. Seat bottoms. EYLES, A. G., 15, Fernbank Crescent, Folkestone. Nov. 9, 1931, No. 31014. [Class 52 (ii).] A deck chair or like seat has affixed to its frame a metal cylindrical casing 1 mounted by means of two end caps 2, 3 to the upper end of the back 4. The spring roller 10, upon which the fabric of the seat is wound, is intro- .duced into the cylinder through the opening 8 and mounted upon the round and rectangular bearings 11 and 13 respectively. A slide is introduced through a slot in the end caps and partially closes the opening 8. The canvas may be withdrawn from the roller and secured by the rod 19 in hooks on the front of the chair, a check rod 17 engaging the inside of the casing and taking the weight off the spring roller.
