Abstract

388,112. Dashpots. OSBORNE, R. S., 62, Jerrys Lane, Erdington, Birmingham. Oct. 12, 1931, No. 28254. [Class 108 (iii).] A shock-absorber for doors and other devices comprises a piston 8 engaging the door &c. and adapted to force fluid through passages 19, 13, 20, the passages 13 being controlled by a piston valve 14 slidable in a cylinder 12 subject to the pressure of a spring 18 so that if excessive pressure is applied to the piston 8 the passages 13 are closed. The spring 18 is adjustable by a screw 16. The piston-rod 9 may be attached to the door &c. by a suction washer 11. According to the Provisional Specification, the piston-rod may be attached to the door &c. by a magnet and the valve be arranged in the piston or piston-rod.
