Abstract

384,316. Indicating liquid levels. ZARDECKI, J., 20, Czerniakow-Okrezna Street, Warsaw. May 28, 1931, No. 15631. [Class 123 (i).] In a device for indicating the level of liquid fuel in tanks, particularly applicable to aircraft where external pressure and temperature conditions are liable to variation, the tank 8 is connected to a 3-way valve 5 by which it may be connected to a chamber 3 or may be cut off and the chamber 3 connected to atmosphere. A flexible diaphragm 2 separates the chamber 3 from a chamber 4 connected to a 3-way valve 6 by which it may be connected either to the atmosphere and a manometer, or to a manometer alone. The valves 5, 6 are connected by a link 7 so that both valves may be set to connect the spaces 3, 4 and the manometer to the atmosphere, or may be set to connect the tank 8 to the chamber 3 and the chamber 4 to the manometer which then indicates the pressure due to the head of liquid in the tank.
