Abstract
420,442. Indicating liquid levels. MARSDEN, A., 68, Victoria Street, London. June 1, 1933, No. 15865. [Class 123 (i)] In the indication of liquid level in boilers and the like, the oscillations in the gauge glass due to surging, e.g. on a ship, are minimized by providing a tank 5 of greater volume than the gauge glass 1, arranged within the boiler and communicating with the gauge glass and the boiler. The tank may be open at the top, or may be closed and provided with a small opening 7 to increase the damping effect by restricting the flow of steam.
