Abstract

379,959. Stop-motions for roving and spinning machines. SCOTT, W. J., 78, Collins Street, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, U.S.A. Jan. 12, 1932, No. 884. Convention date, April 28, 1931. [Class 120 (ii).] An electric stop-motion for spinning and roving machines comprises a contact member, or members, 22, Figs. 1 and 2, pivoted at its end and normally supported by the yarn but, on breakage, adapted to move under gravity to engage a fixed contact bar 28, positioned intermediate of the ends of the member 22, to complete a circuit which stops the machine. The contact members 22 are pivoted at their lower ends on a rod 20 while a control member 30, 31, 32, Figs. 2 and 3, is provided which may be set as shown in Fig. 3 to support the contact members 22 vertically. If desired, an individual control member may be provided for each member 22. On completion of the circuit the latch 36 is released by the electromagnet 35, Fig. 6, and the belt moved from the fast to the loose pulley.
