Abstract

379,960. Stop-motions for gill-boxes. SCOTT, W. J., 78, Collins Street, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, U.S.A. Jan. 12, 1932, No. 885. Convention date, May 23, 1931. [Class 120 (ii).] A gill-box for wool, worsted &c. having an endless apron 14 on the lower roller 13, Fig. 2, is stopped on the accumulation of material on the apron 14 through feelers 29, Fig. 4, which are deflected by the material into contact with a rod 32 to complete an electric circuit. The carbon contact rod 32 is mounted on a bar 25 which supports the feelers 29 and a stop-bar 34 is provided to limit the rise of the feelers 29. On closing of the contacts 32, 33 the solenoid 36, Fig. 5, is energized to release the latch 40 whereupon the rod 42 is moved by the spring 41 to carry the belt from the fast to the loose pulley.
