333,911. British Celanese, Ltd., Welch, S. A., Guyler, A. F., Ashby, J. T., and Boaler, W. H. May 21, 1929. Yarns, warping.-A stop-motion, operable upon excessive variation in tension of individual yarns, or in the whole of the yarns, fed to a warp knitting-machine or to a loom, comprises pivoted members 18, one to each yarn 11, guided by dents in a reed 12, and held out of contact with a bar 21 by the yarns associated therewith. To allow free passage of the yarns through the device, the yarn-receiving ends 19 of the members 18 are bent or cracked. A bar 13 over which all the yarns pass, is mounted upon a spring-controlled arm 27 in such manner that, upon excessive increase or decrease in the tension of the yarns, contacts 23, 24, carried by the arm engage one of two bars 25, 26 disposed upon opposite sides of the arm. Engagement of the members 18 or of the contacts 23, 24, with their respective bars operates a belt fork 34 or other device for stopping the machine.
