Abstract
376,050. Grinding-wheels. DABRITZ, G., 27, Milinowskistrasse, Zehlendorf, and HANUS, E., 5, Friedrichstrasse, Hermsdorf, both in Berlin. Aug. 6, 1931, No. 22279. [Class 60.] A wheel for grinding the rims of rail vehicle wheels &c. consists of segments a held in position in a rim .s by one or more external wedges b<1>, and by an internal hollow split pin c engaging a roughened bore in the segment. The pin is screwed into the rim, Fig. 1, or provided with a rounded part c<1>, Fig. 4, pressed up to the rim by a nut i and an elastic washer h, and is opened to press an elastic ring d, carried by the pin, against the wall of the bore by a screw e. By loosening the screw, the segment may be adjusted axially to allow for wear, and is backed, in the adjusted position, by a distance piece g which is slotted to take over the pin. In a modification, Fig. 6, the segments lie at an angle to the axis of the wheel.
