Abstract

371,863. Valve generating circuits. KIRKE, H. L., 53, Rodenhurst Road, Clapham Park, London, and McLAREN, J., Dalriada, Chesswood Road, Worthing, Sussex. Jan. 26, 1931, No. 2541. [Class 40 (v).] A thermionic oscillation generator of the type in which the frequency is determined by the time constant of a condenser-impedance combination as distinct from a resonant tuned circuit, comprises two valves with a common anode circuit, a control oscillation being fed into that circuit so that oscillatory potentials are applied to the anodes in opposite phase, while the oscillations generated in the grid circuits are combined in a common output circuit. The Figure shows a generator of the known multivibrator type, comprising two valves 1, 2 with cross capacity couplings 3 between the grid and anode circuits. The modification constituting the invention resides in the application of the control frequency to the anodes through a push-pull transformer 5 ; the output from the grid circuit is also from a push-pull transformer 6. By this means control by the injected oscillation is more powerful.
