Abstract

309,508. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Andrews, P. D.). April 11, 1928, [Convention date]. Thermionic oscillators.-A thermionic valve circuit includes an amplifying valve 2 having its input circuit supplied with oscillations from an oscillating valve 1 and a coupling through a capacity 21 from the output circuit of the amplifier to a point 22 on the oscillation circuit of the generator to prevent the amplifier generating oscillations. The point should have a potential 180‹ out of phase with the potential supplied to the grid 19 of the amplifier. The oscillation circuit comprises an inductance 6 and a plurality of series-connected capacities 3, 4, 5 between the grid 7 and anode 8 of the oscillator, and connections are made from the grid 19 of the amplifier to a point on the oscillation circuit separated from the point 22 by the pair of capacities 4, 5. According to a modification the connections shown of the grid and anode of the amplifier to the oscillation circuit are reversed to eliminate the coupling-condenser 20 in the grid connection (Fig. 2, not shown)
