Abstract

370,092. Fusible cut-outs. APPAREILLAGE GARDY SOC. ANON., La Jonction, Geneva, Switzerland.-(Assignees of Soc. Francaise Gardy ; 23, Rue de la Voie des Bancs, Argenteuil, France.) Jan. 31., 1931, No. 3142. Convention date, Jan. 31, 1930. [Class 38 (i).] A cartridge fuse has a tubular insulating body A, as shown in the Figure, fitted with double end caps C, D and G, H. The bore B is filled with vitreous pulverulent material such as globules of glass for damping the arc or spark on fusion and has pads N of asbestos to lessen explosive shock on the end caps. The inner pair of caps C, D are provided with holes E, F and have attached to them the fuse wires I. The outer pair G, H have hemispherical surfaces to form contacts ; contact H also having an extension P the diameter of which is dependent on the amperage of the fuse so that insertion of a wrong fuse is prevented. A spring-pressed plunger L held with the spring in compression by an auxiliary fuse wire J acts as a tell-tale to indicate the condition of the fuse.
