Abstract

368,214. Funnels for liquids. HANAU, A., 129, Oststrasse, D³sseldorf, Germany. Dec. 8, 1931, No. 34075. [Class 125 (ii).] A funnel comprises two relatively slidable tubes a, f, the inner of which carries the funnel-mouth b. A spring g is arranged to keep the inner tube normally in the raised position relative to the outer tube, and an indiarubber ring i is fixed to the tube f. The ring i closes the bottlemouth &c. and has a passage k communicating with a vent l. The lower end of the tube a is provided with a screw cap d the size and displacement of which determines the space left above the liquid when the funnel is removed from the bottle. The cap d is interchangeable. The weight of liquid in the part b operates the tube a relatively to the tube f against the action of the spring g to open the filling outlets e.
