[Class 44.] A fastening for attaching cowlings or like covers to aeroplane fuselages or other structures comprises a shank a<1> mounted in a casing b on the cover c and spring- pressed outwardly so that its head a, which fills the casing recess b<1> though capable of some angular movement, in the disengaged condition is projected beyond the cover c being restrained by an enlargement a<2> at its inner end which serves, when the head a is pushed in with the shank a<1> angularly depressed to enter the large opening of a keyhole slot in a fuselage member e and thereafter raised to position the enlargement a2 on a seating e<3> behind the narrow part of the slot, to secure the cover c to the fuselage f and to draw the head a flush with the cover c. The head a has a recess a3 into which a tool may be inserted to manipulate the shank.
