An anchor device 20 for a latch striker pin 26 comprises a plastics head section 30 forming a frame for an aperture in a workpiece 2, 4, a pair of plastics shank sections 36, 38 integral with and extending from opposite internal sides of the head section 30, outwardly projecting shoulders 44, 46 on the shank sections for snap engagement behind the workpiece, and a pair of opposed resilient plastics elements 52, 54 integrally connected with the head section 30 located between the shank sections, the opposed elements including shoulders projecting towards each other substantially adjacent the head section for releasably retaining the latch striker pin 26 inserted through the aperture in the head section. As shown, the spring action of the elements 52, 54 may be reinforced by a spring. In another arrangement, Figs. 4-7 (not shown) the elements 52, 54 are independent of the shank sections; they are bent round from the shoulder sections 58, 60 and are integrally connected directly with the head section 30. In another arrangement, Figs. 8-11 (not shown), the elements 52, 54 are integrally connected with the head section and with the shank sections. In a further arrangement, Figs. 12-14 (not shown) the elements 52, 54 extend directly from the head section into the space between the shank sections. In the arrangement according to Fig. 15 (not shown) the shoulders 44, 46 are modified to accommodate workpieces of different widths, while the arrangement according to Fig. 16 (not shown) is similar to that according to Figs. 1 and 2 except that the entering end of the device is open.
