Abstract
363,858. Pyrotechnics. MEISSNER, J., Burbach, Kleis Siegen, and NERLICH, A., Beyenburg-on-Wupper, both in Germany. Jan. 17, 1931, No. 1650. Convention date, Jan. 27, 1930. [Class 9 (ii).] A projectile for a toy spring gun comprises a cardboard case d containing a priming cap g, a primer h, and an illuminating or sparking charge i, and is adapted to be ejected from the barrel a of the projector by a spring striker k. On discharge, the point n of the striker enters a hole f au the base of the case d and ignites the cap g. The primer and subsequently the charge i are ignited during flight. The charge is secured only to the cup-shaped end of the primer h and on ignition is ejected from the case d. The primer is preferably made from a mixture of saltpetre, carbon, and a binding agent such as dextrin, gum-arabic, or the like. The sparking charge consists of a common fireworks composition.
