Abstract

363,331. Hydraulic variable - speed gearing. LE SORT, H. T. M., 37, Boulevard Haussmann, Paris. June 11, 1930, No. 17973. Convention date, June 11, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 69 (ii).] In hydraulic variable-speed gearing of the type comprising a pump B,.Fig. 1, connected to the driving and driven shafts 1, 18, and a variable capacity pump A, the driving shaft 1 is directly connected to a movable part of the pump A and is formed with conduits 12a, 14a through which the liquid circulates. The capacity of the pump A may be varied by varying the eccentricity of a drum 9 slidable in guides of a fixed casing 6, or, in a modification where its cylinder block is stationary and the drum rotates, by means comprising oppositely threaded spindles 30, 31, Fig. 6, which are operated to adjust the eccentricity of the drum by turning a ring 37 ; the ring 37 carries pinions 36 meshing with bevel wheels 35, 39, the former being geared to the spindles and the latter geared to a bevel wheel 43 fixed to the shaft. In another form, the pump A comprises a revolving cylinder block fixed to the driving shaft, and a revolving track 23, Fig. 7, of variable eccentricity, and the pump B a revolving track of fixed eccentricity.
