Abstract

1313484 Toothed gearings POLYSIUS AG 21 April 1971 [15 May 1970] 10596/71 Heading F2Q A drum 1, such as a tube mill, is rotated by gearing supported between a bearing of the drum at its end and an adjacent bearing of a drive motor the output element of which in the form of the gear housing, is directly connected to the drum. In Fig. 1 an electric motor 6, through elastic joints 8 and a shaft 9, drives an input shaft 12 having a drive pinion 13 for spur wheels 14 on fixed webs 15. The wheels 14 drive an internal gear 16 of the gear housing 11 which is directly flange connected to the free end of the trunnion 2 of the drum 1 to provide a direct drive. In Fig. 2 planetary gears 34 are mounted by revolving webs 25 on a hollow shaft 26 for common rotation with the rotor 22 of an electric drive motor 23. The shaft 26 is mounted on an axle 31 having an elastic coupling by elements 32 with the motor housing 28. The gears 34 engage a stationary sun-wheel 30 and by further pinions 35 on their axles 33 they drive a gear rim 36 of the housing 21 directly connected to the trunnion 2.
