[Class 44.] In fastenings for trunks &c. having a central lock and side locks all released by a key inserted in the central lock, the central lock has a pair of pivoted members 14, 15 biased inwards by springs 29, 30, and positively moved outwards into locking engagement with a plate 16 by depression of a press-button 17 which is retained depressed by a latch plate 24 released by the key co-operating with an aperture in the plate. The button 17 has bevelled faces 34, 35 which enter between members 14, 15, and bevelled faces 40, 41 co-operating with the latch plate which engages behind a flange 42. Rotation of the button is prevented by guide projections 37, and guide-pins (not shown) engaging apertures 38, 39, springs (not shown) urging the button to the raised or release position. The side locks shown have spring hasps 4, 5 of ordinary form with eyes 10, 11 engaged by latch bolts 6, 7 connected to sliders 18, 19 in the central lock and shot by springs 20, 21 which also act on the.latch plate 24. Rotation of the key on key-pin 43 first operates the plate 24 to release the button, allowing members 14, 15 to move to unlocked position, further rotation of the key withdrawing bolts 6, 7 by co-operation with the tails of sliders 18, 19.
