Abstract

356,938. Domestic boilers. DARBY, H. G., 39, Broad Street, Birmingham. Sept. 6, 1930, No. 26649. [Class 64 (i).] A water-heating tank 1 is adapted to be mounted at the back of a gas fire, and is provided with a flue or flues 8 extending upwardly through it from the gas outlet of the fire. In the form shown the tank comprises a rearwardly and upwardly-inclined top portion 11 through which the sinuous flue 8 extends, and a lower part having a corrugated portion 5 at the front adapted to fit against the correspondingly corrugated refractory back 6 of the stove. The tank is provided with double walls packed with insulating material, and with flanges or lugs by which it may be attached to the back of the stove. A modification is described in which the tank is of simple rectangular form and the flue 8 passes vertically through the upper part to an outlet at the top.
