Abstract
438,924. Sectional boilers; internallyfired boilers. CASE, W. G., 66, The Ridgeway, Kenton, Middlesex. Feb. 4, 1935, No. 3605. Convention date, March 31. 1934. [Classes 64 (i) and 123 (ii)] A boiler has two units, one forming a water jacket around a combustion chamber 24 and made of sheet iron or steel, and the other consisting of cast iron sections 13 connected to the water jacket and heated by the gases from the combustion chamber. The cast iron sections are arranged transversely and are supported by feet 35 upon rails 36 secured to the top of the water jacket. The longitudinal flue openings in the sections are separated by ribs 30b, 30<c>. The furnace gases flow rearwards through a flue 37 beneath the sections, forwards through the side flues 33 and then rearwards through the central flues 33<a>. The sections are connected to the water jacket at one end only.
