Abstract
356,530. Bottle - washing machines. RUPRICH, W., 3, Boelckestrasse, Halle-on. Saale, Germany. Oct. 13, 1930, No. 30632. [Class 138 (i).] In bottle-washing machines wherein the bottles are conveyed in a closed path intermittently to a series of jetting stations, the bottle carriers are in contact and push one another forwards. The carriers are mounted on wheeled carriages running on guide rails 20, 20<1>, 50, 50<1> the bottle carriers being attached to transverse bars 11 attached in turn to bars 12 on which the wheels 14 are mounted, the wheels having additional guide rollers 13 for engaging the rails 50, 50<1>. The ends 12b of the bars are rounded off, as shown, and are casehardened. A sprocket 30 engages the rollers for propelling the carriages. In a modification, the carriages may be loosely connected by pin and slot connection to an endless chain, the carriages pushing against one another as mentioned above, but the slotted connection maintaining them in position as they pass around the sprocket wheel. In modifications, gaps may be left in the train of carriers.
