Abstract
353,042. Disc and like grinding or crushing mills. BREAKELL, T., Brassington Hall, Wirksworth, Derby. April 5, 1930, No. 10842. [Class 59.] A plurality of discs or mullers 7 are caused to travel round within a stationary mortar 1, or are mounted in fixed bearings over a revolving mortar, and in addition are rotated about their own axes by frictional contact with the mortar, the mullers not being in engagement with the mortar at its periphery. The discs 7 may be slidable vertically in sleeve bearings 6 in an arm 5 rotatable by gearing 4. The discs are not in contact at their peripheries 12 with the mortar 1. The bottom of the mortar may be concave &c. and the bottom of the discs may be inclined to the bottom of the mortar. The mortar may be provided with a discharge shutter 10 or a screen and with ploughs. The discs may be raised by a lever 8 and may also be hinged to the arm 5. Renewable linings may be provided for the discs and mortar and the mill may be provided with a cover. Specifications 4479/02 and 28798/09, [both in Class 59, Grinding, crushing, &c.], are referred to.
