Abstract
367,548. Roller-and-ring m i 11 s. MIDDELBOE, K., 33, Vestergade, Copenhagen. Feb. 9, 1931, No. 4035. [Class 59.] In order to prevent unequal wear of the grinding surfaces in a roller-and-ring mill a number of grinding bodies are provided in sets, each set consisting of two or more grinding bodies coupled together by a rigid connection, each set being free to move independently of the other set or sets. The grinding bodies 3 bear against the inside or outside of a rotating ring or disc 2 and are rigidly connected together in pairs &c., the distance between the centres of rotation of each pair may be different. Each pair is supported on trunnions 10 and are pressed into contact with the ring 2 by springs 11 attached to lugs 18. When three rollers are connected rigidly together a pivotal suspension is unnecessary and the rollers are pressed on to the ring by parallel springs. Material is fed individually to each roller through a tube 12 provided with a telescopic end 13 connected to a frame 14 adjustable vertically by gearing 15. The ground material may be swept out of the casing by paddles 16 through an outlet 17 to a sifting device. The fines may be carried out of the mill by an air current.
