Abstract

350,633. Bobbin holders for winding- frames. SCH€RER, (nÚe Nussbaumer), L. and SCH€RER, K. J., (trading as SCH€RERNUSSBAUMER & CO.), Erlenbach, near Zurich, Switzerland. April 7, 1930, No. 10942. Convention date, July 25, 1929. [Class 120 (ii).] The bobbin 12, Fig. 1, is received on an axial spindle, and a spring-pressed sleeve 6 axially movable on the spindle has an internally coned surface 8 actuating radially guided gripping members 9 which engage an external surface of the bobbin, thus allowing the wound bobbins to be removed by axially displacing the sleeve 6 without damage to the windings which are of artificial silk &c. In the form shown the sleeve 6 is held on a pin 2 and the members 9 comprise rollers spaced in slots 4, Fig. 2, in a barrel 3 fixed on the pin 2, and urged outwards by a split spring ring 11 but are forced between rings 13 on the bobbin 12 by the surface 8. A plate 5 fixed to the head 6 has arms extending through the slots 4 and is pressed axially towards the spool 12 by a spring 7, the bobbin being released by moving the head 6 to compress the spring 7 thus allowing the rollers 9 to be freed from the grooves by the ring 11. A needle 14 enables the wound thread to be pulled through the bore 12<1> of the bobbin 12 on doffing.
