Abstract

332,450. Hunt, R. Sept. 12, 1929. Fittings, internal; boxes made from special blanks.-In a rectangular carton for an electric lamp in which inwardly directed tongues are provided in the side corners adjacent the bottom of the carton to support the lamp bulb, and the sides at the top have turn-in flaps with edges shaped to hold the lamp cap, the cap-engaging flaps are provided with two distinct recesses which embrace respectively the cap of the lamp and the glass adjacent the cap. In one form, the blank 1 folded to rectangular shape and secured by a wing 4, is provided with cut-out tongues 7 which are pushed in to support the bulb of the lamp. Flaps 14 are provided with recesses 15, 16 which, when the flaps are bent inwardly and downwardly, engage respectively the cap and the glass adjacent the cap. Recesses 17 facilitate the turning-in of the flaps. The bottom is closed by turning in the flaps 18 and covering them with a flap 10 with a tuck-in extension. The carton will lie flat to about half the size of the blank.
