Abstract

331,397. Jorgensen, O. E. July 11, 1929. Crosshead guides.-In a vertical engine the crossheads are guided on one side only by guides 7 which are common to at least two cylinders and have stiffening ribs to take the crosshead pressure. The guides 7 are integral with frame members 8. In a multicylinder engine the members 8, the surfaces 7, 28, 28<1> of which may be machined at one operation, may be formed in several sections with vertical joints.
