Abstract
323,994. Fischer de T¾var¾s, J. March 19, 1929, [Convention date]. Bow collectors.-A current collector has a contact surface consisting of a plurality of parallel, resilient, and substantially independent strips, carried in the same plane and at right-angles to an overhead conductor. The strips a<1> may be bent or arched and may be thicker at the centre than at the ends. They may be formed by parallel slits v<1>, Fig. 5, in a plate attached at its ends to a frame which may be invertible. The edges of the strips may be bent down to form channel-sections. In a modification, Fig. 10, the slits are formed at the bottom of channels h, and the plate is braced by a centre cross-bar b<1> with legs l' carrying a bracing-wire d secured to the ends of the plate. A spring r<1> may be used for the centre strip. In a further construction, Fig. 3, the strips are independent and are carried on both sides of a light casing l provided with springs r engaging bolts s on the strips. Pins z retain the bolts within the casing.
