Shears. - In shears of the draw-cut type a cutting blade 9 has a curved slot 10, with the curve directed towards the side away from the cutting edge as in Fig. 1, engaging a pivot 8 mounted in an auxiliary blade 6. A link 12 pivoted to each blade shaft at 13, 15 gives the blade a longitudinal motion thus ensuring a slicing as well as shearing action. A helical spring 17 tends to keep the shears in the open position and they may be locked in the closed position by means of a stop 18 engaging an enlarged head 11 on the pivot.
